Brief History.

The Bahá’í Faith was first brought to Kiribati by Elena Marsella and Roy Fernie, from Panama. They arrived on 4 March 1954 and initially settled on the island of Abaiang. The first I-Kiribati to become a Bahá’í was Mr Peter Kanere Koru, from the island of Tabiteuea.

2% of the Kiribati population are Bahá’ís.
